Well after a successful trip up to get a server back up and running, it was time to get back home.

I have to admit to liking Manchester airport, its small (in comparison to LHR) and seems a lot more friendly.

Online check in worked well, and from being dropped off at the terminal to being in the lounge was no more than 5 minutes (inlcuding the security checks).

Boarding was reasonably quick, and once again a half empty flight, the A319 i came inbound on was apparently the newest in the fleet, the one on this flight however had definitely seen better days, not dirty, just a bit tatty (but not to the level UC suites seem to be these days).

A very smooth take off, and landing with the bit in between going very quickly (all 30 minutes). Seats on BA's fleet are pretty comfortable in my opinion. Must remember though to get the earlier flight next time then can get a free sarnie, rather than a snack pack of crisps or a biscuit.

Being up the front meant i was one of the first ones off the plane, but i think i was the only one not on a connecting flight.

The last and most shocking thing, was the bill for £85 for parking in T5 short stay, but ho hum thats my customer's problem.

To be honest with you probably not much time saved at all really, but my customer's perception of how quickly i got up there and got things working again made it worthwhile.

The other advantage is that my customer is based at the airport, so travel from terminal to office was like 5 minutes.

We had a lunch time flight to Berlin the day after yours and also only got the packet of crisp thingies. You need to be in Club to get a proper meal.
