The journey out to Munich airport was long - the hotel recommended a 10 minute walk to the underground a d the the S-Bhan out to the airport. It was a nice day do the walk was ok but the waiting for the underground / train added nearly 30 minutes to my journey.

Arrived in the Munich airport centre - a shopping mall / travel agent area and then headed off to terminal 1 B area. No queue at check-in and straight through security. BA have a galleries there - very nice and bright. Quite a few people in here but enough space and loads of computers / free WiFi as well. Good selection of German beers but a little too early! Did some work and soon boarding was called. There was a fast track land but no agent at the end, so I just joined the short regular queue.

I was in 1F - only three rows of club - no-one else in row 1 but the other two rows were full. Left early and short taxi to runway - departed a lovely sunny Munich!

After take-off the usual hot towels and then a proper bar service with the club world nuts before lunch. This time it was a more continental selection of Parma ham, eggs, cheese and salad - really tasty indeed! Opted for a champagne (well it was nearly 1 when we left!)

Did done quite a bit of work the extra space really helps! Was offered more champagne by the crew member who was in and out of the cabin throughout. Declined but cheekily said I would take one home - instead of one I was given two ;))

Landed ahead of schedule in between heavy rain showers at Heathrow - looked miserable as we landed. Off plane to the chaos of immigration - huge queues at T5 - I reckon there must have been several hundred people at the Europe lanes. Only IRIS working - typical - will be a shame when these are removed!

All in all a really good flight and the crew member looking after us ensured we were well looked after from start to finish - well done!
