Mr DL and I are heading back to Australia :D . Anyone used Tiger Airways recently ? They seem uber cheap ( we want to bob off on a few trips to see various friends). VA seems to be much more costly these days than they were when they were DJ :(! .

No complaints here I have used them quite a bit. They get you from a-b in one piece.

That being said some of their procedures
Are not up to uk standard. My last sector the crew were trying to move an obese pax from the overwing exits and the pilot was literally hurtling down the runway queue the cabin crew running for their seats and abandoning the aforementioned argument with pax.
With him opposite me gloating he won the argument whilst seatbelt unfastened(couldn't do it up)
That could not happen in the uk and did shock me a little.

Apart from that I have never had a problem.

Not flown with them for a couple of years now. Never had any problems when I did though. Cheap cheerful and you get what you pay for.

Following their grounding last year they have been operating a reduced network but this is now slowly expanding again. They are still popular as they are cheap.

Their only downside is they operate out of their own terminal in Melbourne, which can only be described as 'basic' with long walks to the aircraft. However, elsewhere they share facilities.

They are the cheapest airline in Oz for advance purchased fares, sales excluded - with Virgin now moved away from the cheap and cheerful and actively pursuing the corporate market.

Personally I like the new Virgin and use them all the time now, maybe helps that I am Platinum FF status!
