New York Taxi Fares going up from 4th September

By 17% (not had an increase for several years)

The fixed JFK to Manhattan fare goes up to $52 plus tolls (and the tip of course)

"... once they have recalibrated meters and updated external markings..." ha ha ha, how long do we think that will realy take?

Not to forget also the extra surcharge increase to get to Newark.. which by the way isn't on any of their eternal markings

To be fair they have not been allowed to increase the fares since 2006, so fair play to them.

I really look forward to info trickling through about the mysterious Javits Centre expansion being canned and all that money being refunded to hotel guests.... ahh one can dream. ii)
