Newbie - Please help!

Hi All,

I have been a loyal AA flyer for the last 7 years. I am now flying Virgin for the first time. I am booked in economy on VS017 on Monday 6/12 from LHR to Newark. I have lookd at the "What plane will I get section" and it says theres a 70% chance of me getting the v:port entertainment system. How likely is it?? If I don;t get it I will bring my work on flight with me, so could anyone help?
Also, any suggestions regarding what seat to get? Any other tips for a vifgin virgin?/

The percentage chance is based on the historical use of aircraft on the route, so 70% chance basically means it's seen V:Port 70% of the time in the last three months. Draw any conclusions you like from that, but without being to precise, it's a 2-out-of-3 chance that you'll see V:Port on that route in the near future.

That would be correct,unless im on the flight,in which case it would be a 0% chance of V.port,0% chance of UCS,heck even J2k,they would wet lease a 742 just for me LMAO

So even if you don't get one going out, gopefully you will returning!

So very true[:#],but I keep trying..heck i've still got to do my yearly grandmother trip at some point,hence the reason for coming over in July,an easy way to sell it to the boss,but guess it will have to be later in the year,anyone up for a week in Spain around the end of Nov start of Dec next year?

dannyalan, try and find out what sort of plane you are on. I was on the VS17 recently, and had the A340-600, but the A340-300 also operates this service.

If you get an A340-600 you will get V:Port, if its the smaller A340-300 then you will not.

You can tell if you have a 600/300 by selecting "update booking" on the VS website, selecting the VS17 flight, click edit, where you can then view the seat-map.

If there are 65 rows on the plane (an A340-600) then you will have V:Port!

Beware though, that the plane can alter in the days leading up to the flight (mine did switch to a 300 for a few weeks).

Hi Dannyalan,

Not sure when you checked but I just checked VS17 and I am getting 81% V:Port based on Oct/Nov data.

There is some day fluctuation as well. Saturday, Monday and Thursday seems to have settled into a 343 recently whereas most other days seem to be 100% V:Port.

Funnily enough I noticed that GAS and AIR seemed to get into a rythm on this route recently and I was wondering whether this was VSs new introduction to GNFs or whether it was just a comment on their passengers state.[:o)]
