Today I say a prayer for George, and that he finally has peace.

Did anyone ever see George Best on a VS flight? Bless his soul.

And if you never saw Bestie, who is the most famous footballer you ever saw on a VS flight?

I flew with Paul Gascoine in UC some years ago, pre J2000.

We also flew with Paul Gascoine and his then wife just after there had been lots in the press about their relationship. Funnily enough we ended up staying at the same hotel too. I'm not a great football fan so wasn't that impressed. Now if it had been Robbie Williams[:0]

I met David Seaman in the LGW Clubhouse although he wasn't on my flight.

On the subject of Bestie (Lord rest him), wasn't his wife Alex a former VS cabin crew? I wonder if they met on a flight?

We saw Graham Taylor (okay, a manager) in the SF clubhouse and on the flight.

His second wife Alex used to be VS cabin crew. Never saw him on a flight, but did in a bar (strange that!).

Thanks,
Richard

We spent a few hours sat at the bar on VS7 with Vinnie Jones a few years ago.

If this thread is becoming a generic "Footballers on VS metal" one, then in May last year on the same trip, I saw Sol Campbell outbound and Kieron Dyer, Jermaine Jenas and Titus Bramble inbound.

Regarding George Best, I predict this week's Private Eye will contain an article along the lines of "A famous sportsman aged 59 and in poor health has died."
