I've already bought a holdall this morning. I can see this is going to be an expensive couple of weeks!

What a great idea for an auction! (Hmm ... I want my name on a plane!! hehe! Could be a great Xmas idea for those 'hard to buy for' people!

I think that a V-Flyer named plane would be fantastic - although it should definately be an honourary thing :D

Just noticed that the name only stays on the aircraft for a year [;(]

Here's a link to all the Virgin Atlantic items;

Link to eBay

This link also earns V-Flyer about 1p every time you bid - so go mad! ;)

Sorry OT but does anyone know how to get referal web links to work through Norton Internet security as NIS blocks referal web links. I've tried disabling NIS but it still wont refer me to ebay [?]

Thanks and Regards

Didn't realise Norton did that - had heard that it came in for a ton of flack for blocking real content on websites (basically screwing up how they looked), but didn't realise they also blocked affiliate links (Which is pretty low, because that's how many sites, including V-Flyer, manage to supplement the running costs. I wonder why Norton thinks they are allowed to deny a website a referral credit. Grrr...)

Received a reply from Symantec tech support about this. I had to create a web content rule to allow the refering web site to pass the info to the ebay web site (ie I had to create a rule to permit http://www.qksrv.net to pass on web page info on)

It now works [y]

I see there's been a fix, but you can always copy the link address and remove the referral text, leaving the real URL present, so for the ebay one, you get:

search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQfcclZ1QQfclZ3QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQsassZvirginunite

Postage rates do seem a bit high though, hopeully that goes to charity too.

Hmmm, ok, but the question was how to get the referral link to work, which is subtly different to removing the referral part of the link ;)

I fully understand why you are doing this, but people buy software to stop phishing attempts, which is similar to this. The user thinks they are clicking on a link to Ebay, but their data is going via http://www.qksrv.net and then being redirected to Ebay. Maybe an updated FAQ item is needed to explain how to bypass the most popular software packages.

When I click on the referal link they want me to download something..

The referral link doesn't seem to be working, I've had a few issues with these recently, with it timing out and not responding. Go direct and it works fine.

My bid for £7,500 to call the plane "Reefa" didn't even hit the reserve... [:(]

Must try harder...[:?]

It's got my bid at it's current level of £7,100.99. (By the way - WHAT holdalls?)

It really would be great if one of us could get it, but I think we should just lobby to get a plane named after us anyway.

I was going to buy one of the shirts, but they're already too much for me, and there are still 5 days to go!
