well i went to the party and drank a lot of champagne.. so what happened ?

SRB stood up and made a short speech.. mentioned double daily HKG/LHR in 2006 (but when?) and that 'there are a few seats available to SYD'... hmmm loads light then.

Anyhow, we had a few games and prizes (kudos to the guy who jumped in the ornamental lake for 2 UC tix to SYD) and SRB seemed to enjoy it... until his next 'game' when he challenged 'any man who carries a woman around the lake to get 2 UC tix'... sadly a rather drunk man ran for it with a chinese stewardess on his shoulders, then he slipped and fell.. and the poor girl hit the deck with a lound thud head first.. SRB's final commment, partially off mic, was... '****'

she got up and walked away, but no idea if she was in ER after that.. SRB showed lots of concern, but the guy who was carrying her soon legged it.

about an hour later i had 5 mins with SRB.. and dicussed NTL bid and the key factor of why Cowshed in LHR CH has such terrible lighting/doors/soundproofing (the really important stuff then).. he wrote it all down on a matchbook.. let's see what comes of that !

i told him about v-flyer and suggested he browse the site... he wrote down the URL very carefully..

so there you are, some news, some scandal and something v-flyer will like...cheers !

Oh that would be to funny :D

was SRB in India at that time?

Of course if he did ever join it might be a good idea to let one of the admin's know just in case.

So what if SRB were to join this board? (usual pardons if this has been discussed before?). [:I]

As has been seen dozens of times previously, when celebs crash their own fan sites, it has the potential for huge embarrassment and disaster all round. Therefore the reality is he would have to be anonymous. Without wishing to presume what's best for him, if he had any sense he'd find the means of contacting Pix in advance to let him know what's-what (if he hasn't done so already [:?]). Then he'd go ahead and sign up as 'JohnSmithVS' or something.

Maybe Pix would want the Mods to be in on the act, but otherwise he'd be free to interact with the membership-in-general to his heart's content - and pick up a wealth of feedback of the sort that he saw fit to scribble on a matchbook as a result of GraemeK's conversation with him.

Maybe, just maybe, he'd see fit to also create a "SRB" username, just to comment, when he saw fit to do so with the requisite authority. Needless to say, he'd then have to ignore the majority of the chaff that would be sent to that account in response.

Back down on Earth, everything suggested above would be accomplished by tasking a minion in the PR Office - and probably was several years ago?

This is just the ramblings of a fantasist, which the Mods should see fit to curb as they wish. It made me think though when I read of GraemeK's invitation. [i]

Dave

The extra LHR-HKG-LHR flights are pencilled in for mid-Summer 2006 although this may be pushed back to the start of the winter schedule in October 2006.
