As you can see from my countdown, this time next week I will be in the clubhouse waiting for my san tropez tan sipping champagne and relishing in what is UC!

You can probably tell it's my first time and as a NEWBIE to UCS I want to get the full experience. So can I have some tips on how to spend my 3-4 hours at the clubhouse before my Christmas trip to Boston??

How sad am I? I don't care....I break from School on Friday, going to see Little Britain on Friday night, fly to Boston on Saturday! What a fab week!

oh yes....Happy christmas by the Way...Nadolig LLawen to the Welsh among us!!

Cheers all

I know how you feel. I am counting days until my first UCS as well.

I have been planning to enjoy the breakfast in the lounge, will skip hotel breakfast most probably.

Sue,
Welcome to VFlyer! Glad to have you with us. And going in UCS for the first time? Well, what a treat. As you've probably heard there is a whole new Clubhouse at Heathrow, so the 3-4 hours you plan to spend there will likely go by very quickly. Need a haircut? Make an appointment when you first arrive; it's complimentary. What about some breakfast and maybe an "eye opener"? The CH staff is only to happy to oblige. There's WIFI access, today's English newspapers and loads of other things.

If you tell the CH staff that this is your first visit they will be pleased to give you a tour if time permits.

Enjoy UCS and of course, we want a full Trip Report (TR) when you are able!

Best regards,
Chuck

Thanks you lot for all the advice and ideas of how to enjoy my time at CH and in the UCS. I am just thinking now about what to do if I am sharing the UCS with any famous people? Is it best to ignore them, talk to them or look like some star-struck fan desperate to get an autograph!!

Will let you all know how it goes by writing up a full trip report when I get back. I may need some advice on letterings and acronyms for things when I do it but hey we all gotta start somewhere

I should just act all indifferent, and hope that you don't get swamped for your autograph by your fans.

As Sailor 99 says, act indifferent, it usually prompts the response - as seems to be the case with Mrs Buns - that they end up looking at you

Have a great time in the CH and make use of every moment (Mcuth taught me that one;);))

Don't forget your costume so you can have a dip in the spa pool!

In my experience, the chances of there being someone famous on a flight are about 1 in 8, though this is based on an almost always NY. I suspect Boston will have a lower hit rate, with possbily only LAX scoring a more frequent celeb count.

In all cases, the only people I saw asking for autographs were VS staff, and that was with the most C-list of celebs that I have encountered. I did chat briefly to Sol Campbell when he was looking for the JFK limo desk though.

it's official....

I am going tomorrow!
I am still up having had to re-organise my house ready for retutning on the 23rd for Christmas and the last day of term. Most people leave from there own homes in nice limo's. I have to spend the day at the theatre with 240 kids then take them all for a packed lunch...then do the whole end of year thing where they all say they love you and you have to say what lovely children they are!!

Then it's little Britain in Cardiff CIA.....and Saturday a 7am leave from Cardiiff to Drive to heathrow!!! FAb....meeting hubby there as he works in Canary Wharf and can get the Express down...we have our 11/30 Cowsheds booked and i can't wait. Really looking forward to the Trip in UCS and also writing a running commentary on Trip Report!

Speak to you guys soon
