Morning all! Hope you are all well :P I've had a fruitless search on the site this morning looking for the best way to transfer from SFO to Downtown. I know a number of you regularly travel this route and would appreciate an idea of cost and time options. Leaving this Thursday for a 2 week West a Coast RV trip and am very excited ^) ^)

Thank you as always y)

We were very impressed with Super Shuttle. We paid the extra for a private transfer - all very efficient and fast.

BART for us - it's very easy, very cheap and as quick if not quicker than a cab type service, we've used it numerous times both ways without any issues at all.

Agreed - the BART is fast, frequent and easy and runs direct from SFO to four stations along Market Street (the main downtown shopping street). The trains are nice and spacious with lots of comfy seats and ample room for luggage.

It's one of the few US cities where getting to or from the airport by public transport is actually simple and quite pleasant.

BART then cab if off beaten track from one of the bart stations in market street. Ex-airport fares are quite expensive on cabs, BART is better.

I've also heard reasonable things about Uber from SFO from a colleague who visits regularly.

Definitely don't get a car - it's best to not have one in SFO, parking in town is horrendously priced. It'll cost more in parking per day than the hire car will cost per week in many cases!!

Another vote for BART -- easy, quick & cheap as others have said. Only reason not to is if you're lugging several heavy cases with you, or if your hotel is a long way from the nearest station.
