Cyprus Airways Sells LHR slot pair, not to VS...

VS Flying Club Partner and code-sharer CY have sold their only LHR slot pair... to American Airlines.

I can't see how VS can bleat anymore about competition or lack of opportunities to expand when they don't appear to be interested in acquiring any more slots...

Indeed, it never seems to have been part of VS's strategy, instead waiting to pounce on 'free' slots when they become available or whinge instead.

Well look on the bright side. No "VS should have spent that money on making UC better" posts.

Cyprus Airways are under no obligation to sell slots to partners and VS probably aren't in a position to launch new routes, yet.

Virgin had a slot on lease to Cyprus Airways. Surely this will be returned.
