Nice update, I wonder how these names compare with our guesses made a couple months ago?

thanks for the info/link.

Good to see that 2 new A346's are coming in Febuary too, I guess this will enable the new Dubai service, and free up another A343 to Virgin Nigeria.

According to Virgin Nigeria, they will be getting the A343 G-VSUN very soon (December 2006 was quoted).

Roll on 100% Upper Class Suite!

Thanks for the info :)

Wasn't 1 of the old B742's called Dancing Queen (G-VIBE) [?]

The Dubai service starts using A343's for the first few months or so. My seat maps shows an UCS A343 for March 31st. I think it only goes to an A346 in June when it goes daily.

Please, please, please let the VS5/6 service next Christmas & New Year be on an A346 and not an A343 as I'm flying in PE [:0]

thats right, she was also one of the few 742's that got painted into the new "silver dream" (i.e. the current) livery - and very nice she looked too :)

I wonder, is this the first name that Virgin have "recycled"?

I remember a thread where everyone "had a go" at giving their names for these aircraft and, overall, I don't think we were that far off!:D

hehe!, they used to have "Austin Powered" on a B747, with Austin pictured on the side, so why don't VS put a great big Bubbles picture on the side of "bubbles"!

(or maybe VS need the A380 for that ;))

Wolves27, took the words right out of my head.
'Are you a married man, Mr Branson?'

Now she would need at least 4 UCS suites to fit in UCS, unless she went economy... fancy sitting next to her for 7 ours plus in economy? :D

Do we guess that Lady Luck is Vegas bound? Soul Sister perhaps for Jamaica?

Great names ... and still another 9 346s to come followed by the 380s ... more yummy routes to come?

Out of curiosity, is there any reason for the repeat of 'dancing queen'? As im pretty sure there are plenty of names left for the planes...

Does anyone know if the new premium econonmy and economy seats will be fitted in to the new aircraft, or will they still be having trials at this stage.

Aircraft are rarely placed on only one route, but these cities are most likely the source of the names. I really wish VS would get back into the destination registrations. Come on G-VEWR. Oh and it looks like the website's been changed, in order to access the Virgin Atlantic page you must now go to: http://www.jethros.i12.com/fleets/fleet ... lantic.htm

All the old VS B742's have now gone to new homes and are no longer sunning themselves in the desert.

Didn't the 742s go to a Russian airline (Transaero?). So I guess they have finished their holiday in CA and are off to colder climes.:)

Having just researched this a bit more N705TA shown above is actually ex G-VPUF (High as a Kite)

G-VIBE (Dancing Queen - then renamed Spirit of New York post 9/11) is now N701TA

both are/were planned to go to Transaero as VP-BQC and VP-BQH although i think N705TA is still stored in San Antonio

anyway back to the original topic, think it would be nice to have a new 'Dancing Queen' in the fleet!

happy new year!

Maybe they're doing it in honor of the old retirees. T'would be nice as older aircraft are retired.
