Hi Everyone,

This is my first post so please bear with me!!
I was looking for some help on a G.E RTW ticket that I have just booked. I have LHR-SYD in PE, SYD-CHC on NZ in economy, CHC-SFO on NZ also in economy and finally SFO-LHR back on the mighty VS in PE....

What Mileage/Tier points am I likely to earn on the various sectors??

Hi Tallprawn. Welcome to the site, but tell me, exactly how tall can a prawn be?

If you have a look here there is a rather natty tool that will allow you to calculate the information you need from the comfort of your own armchair. Enjoy!

Hi Rob

Welcome to the forum

LHR-SYD in PE with no stopover in HKG will earn you 5 TPS, and you will earn 3 with your SFO-LHR. SYD-CHC in Economy will not earn you any tier points as the flight is less than 2000 miles. Is there any chance you can upgrade? CHC-SFO will earn you one TP as it is over 2000 miles but in Economy.

For more information on tier points, see here

If you have any queries about the GE, feel free to ask away. I completed one last year in Business class and am more than happy to pass on advice and experience, alternatively, perform a search (link at the top of the page) for my username and 'GE' and im sure you will find lots of other threads on the subject.

I should add that Sarah did some good, thorough travel reports on her trip that should be good reading for you prawn. If you search in the travel reports section of the forums for Highflyer you should come across them.

Login, go to and click 'Profile,' (under the VFlyer Banner), and insert your FC number in the 'Flying Club Number:' text box.
