I'm still having problems with the grey background the black still looks to me more like a darker grey against a light grey background.

Needs a bit more contrast please !

You may need to force-refresh your browser. The content text in the forums is now as black as black can be. And I'm not making the pages white... You'll have to accept some design choices!

Yup, that was just while I was updating the profile avatars to use the originals (where users hadn't already set a new one)

Done that and now blacker :-) but I'm still having problems with the contrast and if I am then I'm sure others are too.

Everything is looking 'grand' Pete - superb work. Thank you.

I would also like to see the return of the status updates available previously in the toolbox...spent (far too much) time in there looking at which aircraft were flying where but was such a useful resource when flying....any chance.

Otherwise, very impressive.

Jon

Ok, it's a democracy (actually, more like a benevolent dictatorship...). I hear the requests for the Status Updates to make a return. I shall put it on the to-do list.

I echo both Jons points, well done on a much fresher looking site, and thanks for the information, but I would like status updates page back please...

Many thanks again

Thank you Pete & everyone involved in setting this up. I look forward to getting to grips with the new format but as I am IT illiterate I apologise in advance for any duplicate posts or inappropriate smilies that are produced in the process ! :-O

I have checked ou most corners of the site today and am really impressed. Excellent work and thanks for all your hard work Pete.

The smilies are a bit large, can their size be reduced a tad? 8-)

OK, just "checked-in" again: this is pretty perfect now.

Amazing job, Pete, especially dealing with all our nimby requests so quickly!

Congrats! :D

The status update / news ticker at the top of the page is now working. Slowly, slowly catchy monkey...

100% better - Thanks responding with such speed.

What a fantastic looking site! Well done Pete for creating, adapting, changing by feedback a fabulous site. Looks awesome.....I will, as many others have said, have a good play around and report back. Congrats :D

The new site looks fantastic. Thank you very much for migrating it so smoothly and all the wonderful changes, Pete!

I really like the colour-coded itinerary calendar at the bottom of the page - it's much easier to spot the lounge invites, without hovering over the text.

I look forward to checking out all the corners of the site and the new features in due course!

It will also serve an additional (future) benefit that I'll be able to identify the useful posts and automatically post them to our social media pages.

We have a core group of visitors who spend a lot of time on here, but a large percentage who only dip in from time to time. I've been looking at ways that we can take the (important) posts to them to encourage engagement with a large number of our community. So if a post gets a lot of likes and isn't too long in the tooth, the idea is to post that up on Facebook/Twitter so people who follow the forum (but don't visit every day) can keep up to date on a platform they might use more often. It's all theory at the moment, but the 'Like' button gives me options.

That's the same kind of thinking that we've adopted on our internal company social media site.

Much easier to read the text now.

I'm still having display issues (on ipad this time) the ads on the first post of a page are either enormous or obliterated.

I agree with tontybear, the screen image is too grey and that makes it hard to read sometimes. I have issues each time I try to log on. It takes me several attempts. Has anyone else had similar problems I wonder?
The overview of the site is an improvement but could do with a little tweaking.

One more thing!

I just tried to upload an attachment (a small screen-grab - 87kb) and got this response: "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached."

That's just a coincidence of a quote block in the first post on the page. The ad only appears in that first post, and it's better that the ad gets covered than the content, no?
