Hi there!

On July 8, 2005 I flew VS for the very first time (and loved it!) on VS19 from LHR to SFO. Since I am a somewhat nostalgic plane freak - as my travel companion kindly puts it - I like to keep record of just about everything. But now I've been breaking my head over which gate we left from at Heathrow. The obvious answer is "check your boarding pass", but as we received boarding passes for our AMS-LHR leg as well as the LHR-SFO one in AMS, the latter doesn't have a gate printed on it. I was convinced it was there, but I should've known better...
Now after studying pictures I took and comparing them with maps of terminal 3 and the vague visual memories I have of the boarding area, I think it was gate 23.

Could anyone please correct or confirm this based on the information below?

(Bad) picture: Image
The traffic sign says Hounslow suite, the pole you can see behind the nose of the plane is the new ATC tower. The terminal building made an "L" shape around the plane, more or less on the West and South side of the picture. There were windows on the "West side" as well, I took some pictures there. Iirc, the bus from terminal 1 to terminal 3 followed that L shape around the plane (I remember hoping Birthday Girl would be our plane and she turned out to be! ;)).
Inside the terminal, there was a travelator leading to further gates, but ours was the first one on the left, if I'm not mistaken. There was some major construction going on in a big hallway, with cables and such hanging from the ceiling. That about sums it up...

Can anyone help me out? My holiday picture book would be forever grateful :D!

Thanks!

Your memory serves you correctly - it was Gate 23.
