I'm flying to Hong Kong with my OH next month in Upper on a couple of reward flights. I booked them ages ago and selected 4K/5K as the aircraft at the time was a 346.

Now that it has been changed to a 787, should I move them to 4A/5A as they look more private now that the G row all face to the right.

Any advice from someone who has experienced Upper on a 787 will be welcome.

Thanks

Martin

The A side is definitely more private than K. As you say, G & K face each other.

Just avoid 7A (or 7K), as it has no window.

I'm not sure if it's because the aircraft is quieter (or whether it's that new Meonhill sparkling wine!), but I think the the bar noise carries more in the 787 UC cabin. I think optimum seats are 6A/5A/4A. The galley isn't too noisy in my experience, so 3A/2A probably good too.

We did 5a and 6a on both flights and it was, imho, much bettter than facing g/k seats. Only minor downside was they served the g& k rows first (started at the front) then the a row afterwards from the back. We have booked 6a/5a again for both flights next month.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I have moved across to the A side.
9A/10A on the way out and 5A/6A on the way home. The 9/10A is a bit close to the bar, but since it takes off at 22:30 I recall most people go off to sleep pretty soon after.

If not, I'll have to sit at the bar :D :D

Seats of choice for us....8&7A...closer to the bar...easier to fall into bed! :-P
