Hello Folks, im new to the site, so hello everyone

Me & My brother are thinking of flying Virgin to Orlando in March.

I have a few messages about the flights from Manchester not having the latest In Flight entertainment, is this true?

Also we are thinking of upgrading our seats, do the flights from Manchester incorperate the "Capsules" in Upper Class?

& Also what are the seats like in Premium Economy?

Many Thanks

Paul

Hi nimitz7

Welcome to the forum!

flights from Manchester not having the latest In Flight entertainment, is this true?

MAN uses the same aircraft as LGW (London Gatwick) which currently has (if memory serves me correctly) 5 aircraft with Nova and two with Odyssey. While the IFE is not as good as most of the planes at Heathrow, it still offers at least 8 movie channels to choose from as well as programs for kids. So, while it isnt the cutting edge in entertainment, it is certainly ok.

Also we are thinking of upgrading our seats, do the flights from Manchester incorperate the "Capsules" in Upper Class?

Yes, flights from MAN should all have the Upper Class Suite (unless the plane goes tech for any reason) so its certainly worth thinking of upgrading.

Also what are the seats like in Premium Economy?

The better seats are upstairs. Lots of legroom with the 38" seat pitch and generally a feeling of being in a cabin much more premium.

THere have been lots of discussions on PE (as well as the UCS) so feel free to use the Search function at the top of the page, or read through the many trip reports on the website as a few of our members have done the MAN-MCO flight.

I hope this helps?

hi nimitz7 - & welcome to v-flyer.

Out of MAN you will be on a B747-400, which will have either Nova or Odyssey IFE - which is not VS's latest IFE (V:Port) but still very good (with Odyssey offering games, and Nova not).

Upper Class will have the "capsules" as you call them - this is called the Upper Class Suite. The cabin will have 14 seats in the nose, complete with onboard bar.

As far as Premium Economy is concerned, many v-flyers prefer the PE seats in the MAN/LGW fleet, and if you can get on the upper deck (which is a private PE cabin) as it is very good.

If you want more info then you'll find lots of trip reports on this site, which offer lots of info.

Or if you want to know something in particular then please just ask! :)
