Hi.

We are returning home flying Daytona Beach - Atlanta - LHR. DAB ATL is Delta and ATL LHR is Virgin. When we flew out Virgin at LHR could not print the boarding passes for the delta leg Sonia am assuming the reverse will also be true. When we get to Atlanta we won't need to collect our baggage but will need boarding passes printed (no facilities where we are staying to print them). Is there a Virgin desk somewhere in the international departure lounge who can print the boarding passes?

Thanks

Why not use the mobile boarding pass on your phone after you've checked in 24 hrs prior? Atlanta accepts Virgin Atlantic mobile boarding passes. I'll be connecting through ATL in December and plan to have boarding passes for both my VS & DL sectors on my phone.

I've had VS boarding passes issued by DL before so definitely ask at Daytona Beach.

Failing that Vegascrazy's advice is good. Just get them emailed or texted, or use Passbook if your device has it.

maybe VS at LHR were having an IT glitch

are the DL and VS legs under the same booking reference? (the six character code), if so i can't see why DL wouldn't be able to issue passes for both legs and tag your bags through to LHR

you can still check-in online first to choose seats, then just go to the DL desk to drop bags and get boarding passes

The two legs have a different reference (don't know why, they were booked by an agent). Bags were checked through from LHR to DAB but they couldn't do the boarding cards.

If I use mobile phone boarding passes can I put my whole family of four on the same phone?

Even on a connecting ticket, DL issues its own PNR in addition to the VS one. Both work to retrieve the booking, but the DL PNR is the one you'll see on the boarding pass (and thus the 'default' one in their system).

Had a similar thing happen to us last month. However VS was able to print all our boarding passess for our outbound LHR-ATL-MCI. The issue came on our return, we turned up at the Delta Check-in desk at MCI and dropped our bags off. The agent printed our boarding passes for MCI-ATL and only my boarding pass for ATL-LHR on VS. We asked what happend to the rest of them and the agent said all she could do was print out what the system let her. We ended up arriving in ATL, going through connections (bags already checked through) and getting boarding passes printed at the gate before boarding started...no problem!

Not sure what the reason was for the issue, particularly that the DL agent could print 1 out of 4 ATL VS boarding passes.

On a side note, we were traveling PE and so were entitled to x2 bags at 23KG each. However, checking in at MCI the DL agents seemed painfully unaware of this, adement that we had to pay for any secondary bags. ( In fact the agent was very abrupt and rude about it). Always prepared, with e-ticket in hand ended up going to one of the senior agents who confirmed we indeed were allowed x2 bags free. Moral of the story it pays to know your rights. :D
