Hi, I don't know if this request is politically correct or not but here goes!

I have purchased my son & his fiancé return tickets to New York (EWR) to reward him for eventually graduating (a few failed years due to health reasons).

They depart on Friday 27th November from LHR. Are there any members who are flying UC that day (or AU members) that could sign them into the Clubhouse as guests?

I am willing to pay to enable them to enter the Clubhouse but I'm aware that entry on the day is not always guaranteed.

I have nominated him for family Silver membership as I've just got AU myself but also understand that this won't give him access to the Clubhouse either.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

I'm not sure about political correctness, but the subject is definitely a bit of a touchy one on here Taffy.

Like many V-flyers, I would only consider guesting someone from here if they were an active contributor and didn't just sign up to have a pop at lounge access - let's not forget the story of Rosie and her equally attractive friend from last summer.

In order for your plan to work, you would need two UC or Au v-flyers travelling solo on exactly the same day and same flight as your son & his fiancé willing to guest in a complete stranger. Odds aren't good, but you lose nothing from asking I guess. Nothing on the itinerary calendar so far though..

My advice would be to check out the Guest List package offered by VS - it's the only way to ensure CH entry from your side of things.

You are correct, there is no CH access granted as a perk for Ag members.

Hope that is of some help

Nor, as a rule, do they allow economy passengers to pay for entry - PE only IIRC (and then only if it's not too busy).

It's no Clubhouse but have you considered the No.1 lounge? It's a cut above most shared lounges, you can pay to enter and if you book it via the VS website you get a discount as well as earn miles.

Funny you should mention Rosie, I've noticed for several months when I log in and see who's online that she's lurking online but she's never contributed since that thread.

I thought you can pay for the clubhouse if it's quiet?

No1 lounge is decent enough for the money - sign up to their emails & wait for an offer.
There was one last week - Free glass of Champagne + entry for £20

Still get free booze & food included.
