LHR->SFO->SNA

I am a regular traveller to LAX but really do not like the A340s and was considering going via SFO on the lovley B744.

Also when I travel to LAX I am actually heading for just south of Irvine in Orange County so John Wayne or possibly Ontario would be better as the traffic on the I405 can be horribe when the VS07 arrives.

So any thoughts on the extra cost/time? I am not sure if there are any special deals for the internal flights but it often takes me more than an hour to drive to John Wayne from LAX.

Looks like LGW->LAS->SNA may be a better option as I live nearer LGW.

Just a quick question slightly off topic. Is SFO the only airport from LHR that has an only 747 service. I heard that somewhere recently and have been trying to think if there is any other VS route from LHR that has a year round 747 only

On topic,for me the LAS-LGW route would probably work better,there are a whole bunch of airlines running flights down into the OC all day and night.

And if that doesn't work, and you need to fly into LAX, hire a van service to pick you up at LAX and take you to Orange County. The carpool lane will save you tons of time!
