Hello - I wish to change a booking that I made ages ago. It may be me, but I am unable to find the detailed fare rules under the reservation. Are they available on line, and if so, where do I click? I want to find out how much the change/cancellation fee is, and also if I can apply the remainder to a future flight.

Thanks

Have you tried logging into the booking? Mine says it on the booking.

Alternatively it should be on your eticket/email.

The rules can be found on here toolbox_fare_codes.php

You are probably best off actually phoning them up.

Remember with some tickets that changes are not even possible and it would be a case of cancel (and not get much back i.e. only the Government Taxes and Airport charges) or fly.

There won't be any 'credit' of the unused fare for you to use later.

I've only ever been able to find the specific fare rules before making a booking. When you select a flight on the website, there's a link to them.

So you could try doing a dummy booking provided you can find the same fare bucket still on offer. If not I'd call.

OK, I followed up: When I do a dummy booking in PE, H fare tickets like mine are indeed non-refundable, and calling VS about my own tickets I find that they are changeable for £300 to another date, which must be within one year of the original departure date.

However, if I (dummy) purchase an S fare, I find additional wording in the T+C's which allows cancellation for £350. This was just one dummy booking, but if this is indeed a general rule for S fares, it would be another incentive to buy them!

Originating from SFO, SFO-LHR return S fares are typically US$150 per direction more than H. The H are non-refundable, the S fare are (usually) refundable less $350 (just verified on the phone). To change either the H or the S fared ticket before departure costs $300. I think these fees are perhaps lower when originating from the UK!

Still, the additional $300 for a return S fare seems like good insurance!'
