It doesn't look like it's going to happen, does it? [:(!]

The BA deal does run until end of March though, and is for flights booked and travelled within that time, so I guess there's no immediate panic ( Except for those of us thinking of booking now.. i.e. me! )

Especially when I looked at the fine points - assuming it's restricted to J & D fares again, a D fare LHR-CPT for me will come in around £2950 ( With Z now at £2684 ), whereas a BA FIRST fare with shareholder discount comes in just under £3600. If I apply for and pay for that fare with a BA Amex, I could earn 88000 BA miles. It's a tempting option to just go for BA and rack up the miles, plus put myself within a shout of getting Executive Club Silver membership also ( which nets 25% extra base miles per flight ) and I'd only need to spend another £6400 in 12 months ( Ditch the Flying Club spending... ) to get the companion voucher to make great use of all those miles.... it's certainly a test of brand loyalty, isn't it? [:?]

Thanks,

David.

Rumour has it (info garnered by one of our intrepid members)that there is a meeting going on about the subject up in Crawley this afternoon. However I couldn't possibly comment.

it is just rumour at the moment, so don't procrastinate to the extent that you miss out on something else.

While, on the one hand, it'd be great to see VS match the offer; I can't help feeling that they would be showing a little more integrity if they didn't on this occasion.

It's getting a little ridiculous, the whole "Jump!" - "How high?" thing that VS & BA do. While I fully understand the commercial pressures behind sales/offers etc (and believe me, I do), I just think it would be nice if at least once, one of them dared to be different or stick to their guns. [:w]

Thats a really nice idea Paul and I agree it would be cool. But can we let them off this once, and maybe they skip it when it not such a good offer - or at least one we won't benefit from? ;);)

Go on VS, show no integrity, jump off that moral high ground... I want my triple miles. This will be the only time in for forseable future I'm doing J over Z (well until the next companion comes along)

Traveled back from SFO in NNNNNNCW last week and have to report the seat is still as hard as a bag of blue bricks and no duvet just a blanky:DHaving said that I did get 7 hours kip.

That doesn't sound good, Jaguar. I am possibly having to fly BA next Fall. So, the softer bed ... isn't?

It's the hardest seat I have ever been in and looking at the pictures I think it was the new softer seat.Having said that if you bag a seat on the upper deck (62 is a good row)the service was up to first class standards, food excellent, booze was quality and free flowing. All 3 of us slept no problems.I was quite impressed[y]shhhhhh.:D

Hmmmmm, sounds very good.... for the Triple Miles it's flexible Club only which comes out near to discounted FIRST. I know which one I'm looking at... :D Just applied for the Premium Plus card for the extra miles ( just in case.... )

Big page in the Sunday Times too, the reasoning behind the arguments aren't the best I've ever read ( "We're better than BA because you can get a St Tropez tan with us" Hmmmm )

Thanks,

David.

Well spotted Decker! Tell me, if it takes a man 2 hours to dig a hole, how long would it take 4 men to dig half a hole?

You can't dig half a hole. If it's a hole of any kind, it's a whole hole. You could dig a hole that's half the SIZE as the previous one, but there's no such thing as half a hole...
