Good afternoon all,

I'm sure this has been asked before but I cannot seem to find the right thread.

My partner and I both have flying club accounts (registered at the same address).
Am I able to transfer the balance of her account to mine? If so, do VS charge a fee for this?

I seem to remember reading previously that you can transfer miles free of charge if you live at the same address but I can't find anything on the website.

Many thanks

Yes you can transfer miles and yes you do have to pay.

You can check how much by using the relevant link in the flying club pages on the website as the cost depends on the number of miles involved/

Not heard of them ever been free even if the same address though

Gold status only - perk for gold is - "Pool your miles when you link up to nine other flyers to your household account – kids too."

Great, thanks all.

It must have been the FC Gold 'pooling' that I remember reading in another thread.

I'm only silver so guess I'll have to cough up if I decide to pool them.

My O/H is moving to Dubai for a year for work in the summer so I was planning to boost my miles to help with the visits - and upgrades! ;-)

You could of course get your OH to book your flights using their account rather than complicated and expensive transfers.

depends how much they love you Vs their miles though!

And when they say 'pooling' all they are doing it seems is transferring miles from the other accounts to yours and then allowing other accounts to access them - not really a household system like BA. So considering they are doing this, why they still charge through Points.com to do transfers is beyond me.

Silver & Red members still have to transfer the old, expensive way.

And it's expensive because VS would rather you didn't do it. They'd rather you earned your own miles by flying with them.

I didn't think of that. I may have to use a little gentle persuasion to succeed though!

When we get back from Cuba next month I'll have around 70k, which I believe is enough for a G to DXB. My O/H will have around 60k so I'm guessing it'll probably work out cheaper to purchase the extra miles on her account and then for her to book my flight rather than doing the transfer.
