Evening ladies and gents

Myself and the OH have our first UCS trip in March, LHR-SFO.

Currently we have seats 2A and 2K selected. However, I quite fancy the idea of 1A and 1K, I like the idea having less people next to you and also the extra storage it offers.
My only concern is the possible noise from the WC that 1K might suffer.

My two queries are

1) For those in the know, would you go for 1A and 1K or 2A and 2K, and why?

and

2) Why aren't 1A/K available to pre-book? I ask this because every other row is available online (except 6 and 15). Is row 1 only given out on the day/at check-in - if so , why (I'm curious!)

Cheers for the help
Andy

The amount that any WC noise disturbs you may depend on whether you want to slepp on the flight.

Personally, I would stick with row 2 so you have a bit more of a buffer between yourself and the WC for reasons of both noise and physical disturbance as people pass to and from.

Could anyone answer question 2 for me?

Thanks

Bit of a stab in the dark really... but im guessing that as 1, 6 and 15 are bulkhead seats these are used for baby bassinets which would probably explain why they are not allocated until the day.

Thats what I reckon anyway.... I'll happily be correct though... ;)

Currently there are no Bassinet positions on the 747 UCS. They DO hold the first rows back until the day, on most occasions, to try to be able to move families if necessary.

Hope this helps
