Morning from the LHR Clubhouse - 05/05

Morning everyone,

Haven't been here for a while. In fact don't think I've been in this CH since October 2016 as my regular VS flying has all been through MAN and my last couple of trips from LHR which were planned were curtailed due to weather in the UK and then the U.S.

Anyhow it's good to be back. Check in was a breeze and lovely. Offered an escort to the CH (due to my VS status) which I declined but nice all the same, security was also a breeze. The welcome into the CH was a little cool (until said status was noticed on the screen) and then escorted in with smiles and conversation. Drives me nuts to see customer service delivered in this way.

The CH was brisk on arrival at 0800 and service was also initially slow and I started to wonder if I had got dressed with my invisible shirt once again. I moved and the difference was immediate, warm, friendly and very attentive

Very lucky to be able to book spa appts ahead of time because the spa is busy today. Didn't realise until I booked yesterday but my haircut remains complimentary for UNQ pax too which is very welcome and appreciated.

CH now very busy at 0945.

So boarding begins at 1245 for My flight to JFK so time to squeeze in a little food and maybe a couple of drinks.

Thanks for the assessment - I know you are a frequent MAN traveller, so to get a glimpse from some one who flys frequently on VS, but not from LHR, is extremely valuable.

Thank you so much Buns. Had a wonderful flight. Full in UC, 3/4 in Premium and Economy looked reasonably light on the VS153 today.

7hrs50mins to JFK today due to the strong Atlantic jetstream (so heading home should be pretty quick!)

First me at LHR too. We pushed back from Gate 27, left the cul-de-sac and headed to 9R, didn't stop once and departed right on schedule on G-VNYC (which by the looks of it was scheduled to operate the VS137 as quite a number of references to indicate that on storage boxes etc) but was clearly switched along the way.

Fantastic crew on board. A solid and very engaging FSM who worked his socks off all flight long and a wonderful team spirit in UC. Super friendly CC.

Sadly JFK was less than welcoming but hey ho.
