To be clear, the frowns I see seem to be from fellow (almost entirely male) pax, not the crew (who have been on the whole good to excellent).mallin wrote:One comment we were in first last year from Terminal 3 went to go towards the First check in and the agent, screamed at me to get in the Economy queue, you should never judge a book by its cover as they say.
This exact thing happened to me in T5. Walking over to the First Wing, I was chased after by an agent screaming, "Sir! Er, sir, er, THIS WAY SIR!" I thought it was some security issue, so I gave her my boarding pass and started walking with her until she stopped dead in her tracks.
"Oh, I'm terribly sorry, sir..."
I also dress for comfort when flying, have flown BA F and will be doing so again in a few days. If a member of ground crew did something like the above to me, there'd be hell to pay. There's few things I dislike as much as making assumptions about people based on how they look, so if someone yelled at me to get into the economy line or chased me yelling after me as I walked towards the premium lanes, they'd get a very loud gobful in return before I turn and walk away.
I did notice on my second flight in BA F that one chap, who must've been Gold or something from the attention he got, was dressed oh so casually... well sort of. He had on striped pyjama bottoms, shirt, and when he left the flight on arrival into London, donned a sport coat. It was a real ensemble to behold. But he was comfy and that's all that matters. I was in fleecy tracksuit bottoms and t-shirt which I use for lounging around.
At the end of the jetway TURN LEFT and... champagne, champagne for everyone
