Virgin will use their own aircraft for Sunday departures to Barbados.
For Friday flights they will codeshare with BMI I guess?

I've no idea if there will be 2 flights a day to MCO though?

Well i have heard a while ago on the grapevine that you could well see MAN-LAS go to VS from BD. Allowing them to free up the use of a 330 for extra routes from LHR.

Technically VS would be very clever in eventually taking over all of the b+s routes that BD operate, after all they dont fit into their business plan from MAN, they dont fit into the star alliance at all (at least ORD and IAD are *a hubs) and VH provide 95% of the pax on the b+s routes for BD anyway.

Time will tell if BD/VS strike a deal and VS take over the routes. After all VH will want customers to have the whole virgin experience- hence new routes to Jamacia, Cuba and Bahamas from LGW.

A lack of a/c at VS is the current real problem- hence why i think that BD are just babysitting these routes plus as BD expand at LHR they will need the a/c capacity at lHR.

On a side- dont be surprised to see some ultra long haul routes from MAN soon- possibly QF MAN-FCO-BKK-SYD or NZ MAN-LAX-AKL (though hugely doubtful).

Not sure about next summer but there will be 2 VS flights a day from MAN to MCO in Nov this year on Fridays and Saturdays. See the VS web site here

The BGI flights also start again in Nov from MAN on Sundays here

I was speaking to Flying Club the other day and during the summer next year, they will be adding VS073 and VS074 on MAN-MCO. Flight times (roughly) are MAN 14.30 and MCO 21.30.

Not too sure how many months they will be running.

Have to agree with you about the potential that BD are babysitting ... their strategy seems to be to expand LHR (vis a vis current open skies negotiations) and I'd be very interested to see VA and MD reaching some arrangement over take off slots at Manchester.

Scarily returns to the option of whether Virgin and MD will merge?

Hi all Manchester flyers!

I've finally booked for next June (MAN - MCO) and am taking advantage of the later flight back to Manchester, a bit of a daft question but will these additional flights be operated by Virgin or another airline?
