Sounds like a full fare 'J' to me.

Las Vegas holding a convention by any chance? Could be premium dates as far as Virgin are concerned.

J2r by the look of it. Not a lot of flexibility showing. Even partially flexible Ds are coming in mid 5Ks...

Take a flight to LAX and get a connecting flight from there, so much cheaper.

The connecting flight will only be about £70 return if that and it`s a 45 minute flight.

I`ve just done this journey earlier this month when CES 2006 was on, it was definately cheaper than going direct to Vegas in UC.

Hope that helps

Availabilty is the problem - especially on the return, no Z, only 1 in D and 2 in J at time of this post.

Can also connect via America West from SFO. SFO are still 747s while LA flights are A340-600 (early flight) and A340-300 late flight (with no v-port). SFO flights also gets in earlier.

Can try SFO/LAX out and LAS back or vice versa to work out which is full flight so you only have to connect once. SFO Clubhouse is fab though. There is shared lounge in LAX and LAS is so-so.

Seem to be no J or D bargains for Vegas up to end of March, but then everyoner wants those triple miles I guess.
