manymiles,

Take a look at the Fare Class guide on this site.

I pulled the info from it you wanted.

Basically, it's a heavily discounted UC fare. You don't get the limo, the fare is restricted for changes, but everything else is essentially the same.
Cheers
Jon

Z
Heavily Discounted Upper Class Fares
Flying Club Miles and Tier Points will be earned on this fare. 200% of mileage flown earned (225% for Flying Club Gold members). Lowest level of fare class for Upper Class, highly restricted in regards to changes/cancellation. Advance purchase will normally be required as it is typically an Advance Purchase Excursion based fare (APEx). No chauffeur driven car transfers on any route on this fare but they can be purchased using Flying Club miles, starting from 10,000 miles one-way. Rarely qualifies for any promotion that is running for Upper Class passengers, only notable exception is the MilesMoreFriends referral scheme. A ticket in this class will allow you to utilise the Clubhouse/Shared lounge on your journey for you and one guest flying with you. If returning to LHR on an appropriate flight, only the ticket holder can use the revivals lounge - guests are no longer allowed, even for cash. This fare class is also used for Upper Class Flying Club MilesplusMoney fares (MpM). There will need to be availability in this fares class for you to be able to take advantage of MpM. MilesplusMoney tickets do not earn Tier Points or Flying Club miles.

Thanks for the info.

I was looking for the cost of the Z fare this time of the year.

Have you checked the Virgin website, under lowest cost UC? If you go through the motions, picking your flight etc, you will see at the bottom of one of the pages if you have a limo or not. If you don't qualify for a car, you got a Z fare.
If you do, you got a D or a J.

One thing that will restrict your ability to purchase a Z fare for the end of Feb. is it's 42 day advance purchase restriction.

If you look on ExpertFlyer for dates in, say, April - you'll see Z's appear. This close, however, the cheapest option you'll find for the end of February will be a D class ticket (but that will also get you 4 x limo's, and triple miles right now... ;) )

Ah, 42 days in advance I had missed that.

So when I try some dates in May/June I get a fare of £2,431.90.

Is that the loweset Z fare?
