Morning and a belated Happy New Year from the Clubhouse at a dull London’s Gatwick.

Coffee had and a breakfast ordered before a wee glass of the fizzy stuff

Flights on time and a temp of 28c beckons after a very last minute booking (Sunday) on G’s.

All is well in the world ( well maybe not in a certain painted house )

Enjoy the trip - weather sounded great last week (Typhoon lagoon pictures looked amazing for December at Xmas in orlando).

Wondering if you also managed the late notice DVC booking to go with the flights - but finding late notice G availability is great alone even if you have to slum it offsite ;) We looked for similar but the lack of DVC point availability made us think twice (we're unfortunately out of points this year due to booking a 2 bed in peak summer).

Ha. That was indeed the difficult bit.

Finding G’s and a room was a challenge. It’s kinda got a lot more difficult finding a complete week at short notice as the US residents tend to go for weekends taking the Friday and Saturdays - before the change there was a much bigger differential in the weekend to weekday points to discourage Fridays and Saturdays being booked up.

What I did learn is to keep checking. The rooms literally change by the hour.

You get one or two then all of a sudden a week pops up, however by the time you go back and check flights the rooms gone. Lol.

However I did manage to get 5 nights in Old Key West in a one bed. Not my first choice but it worked and adding on a couple of nights in the Hilton completed the week.

The big problem was the price at short notice.
