I went for A - op ups should be happy with whatever they are given.

BTW I always fly J and yes my firm books it - but do you really think that I have no influence over my choice of airline- enven if it is by creative scheduling?

I think we need to remember as well that VA is loved as the peole airline because the image is that its not as ruthless as others;)in its class society distinctions.

I would imagine BA to fawn over the J ad snoot past the Z, but Virgins image is different.

I still think they would go for the Z who is loyally choosing VA for his privilaged cabin and silver card.

Well I know what I'm trying to say lol[:I]

And in that you would be wrong.

On our LAX-LHR flight in Sept we were op-upd to club from WT+,though we did try and pay for an upgrade BA wouldn't take our money [y],however once on board we were the first to be served food and drinks [y]Of course it could of just been my sparkiling personality [:w]:D

and if your say was to go Virgin , surely there would be some sort of reason (you`d have flown before & were looking to fly again being most likely , that & you got FF miles with them :) ) in which case why not already have Flying Club membership?
Ive got it & Ive not flown Virgin yet!! Hoping to take first VS flight this June (sooner if I can).
Flights Ive arranged through my company, main criteria is cost - beyond that I dont care if they go GLA to LHR via Dubai , as long as they are there & back at the times needed & the cost is comparable to other options. As the owneer, cost is the main concern to me [}:)]

Must say, for years that has been my perception too - whether or not it happens is another matter. Has mellowed in recent years (im only 28 now :)) having had flights with various airlines & having seen some of the staff etc.

I i was one of the 3 , I wouldnt care that much - steak is one of my favourite dishes & I rarely have it out as good as I can cook it for myself, but I feel compelled to order it if I cant make my mind up about other dishes. If they told me they might not have enough (or had none) I wouldnt mind too much. I dont think most reasonable people would.

As a member of CC, id give the steak to the pax eho was nicest to me, after all, im the one who has to work with them for the next 8/12 hours.

Though as a member of staff at VS, it would be Passenger C for me due to loyalty. IMHO Passenger A may be a businesss pax who id like to persuade to VS but if that is the case, where is his loyalty? I used to book trvael for my MD at my old company and i know the policy was always a case of 'cheapest and/or most direct in terms of timing' so although he was a member of a number of FF programs, there was never any real loyalty, just whichever flight came out cheapest. To me, this could easily be the case with this pax, and if he hasnt flown VS J before, i would be confident that the other services onboard would make up for his lack of steak.

Passenger C has shown me their loyalty, yes they rae on a K for this trip, but by being FC Au they have obviously been flying a fair few VS flights to retain Gold, so i want to keep their custom and loyalty. Passenger B would be next on my list, due to the Z/Ag combo.

Can I just add to this that we don't know who is on a full fare/discounted Z fares on board. All we know from the manifest is Flying Club details ie. Gold, Silver, Red or another airline.

From personal experience, I would give the meal to the Silver card holder.[B)] Gold Card holders will always get their first choice

Interesting you should say that Tinkerbelle... I was asked on a flight last year (as a Gold, on a paid Upper ticket) whether I'd mind switching my meal, as they didn't have enough to go round.

Similar to a previous post, I genuinely didn't mind - and wasn't that fussed on my original selection - but I'm not sure it's possible to guarantee that Golds will *always* get their first choice. ;)[:I]

On a personal level, if there wasn't enough meals for the Gold card holders then I would go and ask people if they would mind changing their choice. Thankfully that has never happened to me - but it prob will now on my next flight now that I've said that![B)]

My brain says (A) but my heart says (C), for all the previous resonings. My heart normally wins out.
Ultimately I would advise them not to have the steak and go for the Lamb Shank instead..

Well, i voted a.
However, this is only based on the steak being a nice piece of meat.
Personaly, if you cant choose, chuck it out the back to those poor chained up savages in economy and let them fight for it.

LOL!

For me it was a very close run thing between A&B, but I actually voted A on monetary terms only. Of course, the tiebreaker between the two should really be "who ordered it first"...

Cheers

Ah - but there is one fatal flaw in that : it depends on when they get asked by the crew... [:I]

"Excuse me Mr Malikifx,it seems that we have run out of the steak, would you mind having the chicken?"

At the risk of sounding racist or whatever, wasn't the long lamented Mr Malikifx from India. [?] Therefore he would be unlikely to be ordering beef [ii]

ROTFPMPL!

"But perhaps I can get Mrs Malikifx what she would like?"
"Don't you be racist to my wife!"

I opted for option B - reasons as previously stated by various people.

I went for B in this case. However if I was to be faced with that situation I'd go with the one who was being nicest / most pleasane / chatty or flirty. As has been said, you have to spend a long time serving these people so you have to do your best to make it fun.

Anyway the J guy was probably a BA Gold card holder and spent the entire flight winging about how he should have been on BA and how much better they are.
