Made the decision to blow some miles last night. Was hoping for enough G class availability to get 4 of us (taking my ma & pa this time, they make very cheap babysitters) plus jr. over to LAX/SFO in Nov and, quite understandably, I wasn't holding out too much hope. Shock-horror - FC came back with 7 or 8 different dates! Really impressed so I was. And I always though these Reward seats were hard to come by.

So, a family break in Californ-IA now beckons...:D

People have been booking G's for fun recently, with the new levels coming in on 1st March. LAX and SFO G fares have taken the biggest increase, suprising as you say that so many seats are still available.

Suppose it may be a little difficult trying to find the seats any earlier than November.....[:?]

That is what happens when you stop Delta SkyMiles customers being allowed access to the reward inventory.

Thanks,
Richard

I enquired about G class availability for flights to JNB and back in May - plenty on the outbound (VS 601) but only 2 for the whole month on the return leg!!! Needless to say there is only one left now!!!

There is something strange about reward availability to JNB: I have never been able to get availability on the return, but there is always plenty of reward space on the way back. I have a suspicion that VS are controlling capacity using this mechanism...

That was always the same with PVG, except the limit was outbound from LHR.
