Just checked our flights to and from LAX. VS23 on 10th Feb is still showing 343 but VS24 on 19th Feb has changed to 346. No apparent reason showing but at least we get VPort on the way home[8D]

The VS23/24 will change to a A346 from the 18th Feb for the summer season until October.
The VS007/8 will go back to a 747-400 from March!

This really is good news, I travel this route regularly and go out of my way not to fly on the VS 23/24 as I do not like the A343.
This is a big falldown for many people. I know that some experienced flyers will try to fly back from SFO when travelling to CA. Going on the 023, you may get J2000, arcadia and no CH, whereas at SFO you get UCS, V:port and a CH.
Cheers,

Look like VS have responded well to customer feedback, most peoples opinion on the 23/24 seems to be the same - avoid given any opportunity for getting on the 7/8 or 19/20.
Bringing a 346 on for the summer season is a good move [y] May-Sept demand will certain warrant the extra seats - Am I right in saying B.A operate a 3rd flight during the summer????

uuummm,no,for any regular VS flyer to the left coast 23/24 has been a must avoid since it first started many years ago,if VS were listening to their pax on this subject it would of changed years ago.
It will be interesting to see what they do next winter with less 343's,maybe fly two 346's a day or maybe just 1 744?

Oh for sure they have been limited by the lack of metal, however 23/24 has always seeemed to be the route that..well sucks..343,no clubhouse, then get's hit with the GNF's (since gone bye bye but)my point being VS could of done alot more to make this route work better.
Having the ucs aircraft dedicated to it as they came on line would of been a good start.
Dont know,of course the boards will light up when we have someone that flys 23/24 during the summer on a 346 then again in the winter on a 343.
What I guess it comes down to is,if your going to do something do it right,we on this board went well nut's over the GNF and the general food problems in UC,some of those have been addressed and the food seems to be improving, just would like to see the 23/24 situation improve fulltime.

I think the aircraft change was done due to aircraft avaliabilty and not as a result of customer feedbacl.
Since there is seven A346 arriving and 4 leaving/ left the fleet it makes sense to upgrade the aircraft.
