Hmm!! Flying to Miami on 16th March with return on 23rd - off for a bit of r&r in Turks and Caicos.

The "manage your flights" section of VS is showing a 747 but the recent aircraft type over the past three months shows only 343 or 346.

Can anyone shed any light on what aircraft type we are likely to be on - we are in PE so Im hoping for the 747 as that upper cabin is just coooooool!!!

(will you help me Sarah - I promise not to diss you again!!")

Mark,

Please consider the content of the FAQ section. We do not know what aircraft are scheduled to run each flight.

You've had the historical indications (but personally, I would put more weight on the VS seat map at this stage). No further information on your exact type of aircraft on your date of flight is available to users of this site.

(Besides - until you're in the air, all bets are off due to operational changes, anyway ;))

Me? Diss you? Never .. ;)

Hi Mark

As Paul says, we donÕt actually know what plane is flying what route so you need to put some faith into the VS seat map and hope that it doesnÕt change.

IÕm also seeing a 744 for this flight. (perhaps the MIA route is getting the 744 for the summer season a little early?) so fingers crossed for you Ð although until you are actually airborn its best not to take anything for granted.

If it's any help, ExpertFlyer's indicating (and therefore backing up the VS seat map) a 747-400 on the 16th, and a 747-400 on the 23rd at present.

Wow - what good site - I can see how you can have lots of fun looking at stuff in here!! Thanks Paul!!

I think I know that answer but just to confirm - the availability letters match up to the ticket class letters and if it shows a 7 then there is current full availability in that class - or at least 7 seats!! Is that correct?

Hi Mark,

Yes - 7 is the maximum VS show - so a 7 means there are at LEAST that many seats available in that fare bucket. EF won't show award availability, however.

The seat maps can give you an idea of exactly how many seats have already been reserved, also (bearing in mind exit rows, etc. can't be), that can help supplement that information.
