we are thinking of booking VA again for our holiday in Sept 2007, as this is so far away what changes to planes etc are we likely to expect. With arrival of new planes and the extra MAN/MCO flight are we likely to be getting some different planes into the MCO fleet?

nope doubt it- VS are continuining to make LHR an all airbus fleet and LGW/MAN an all 747 fleet. Therefore I would imagine that come 2007 you will be flying to MCO on a 744. So no different to the last two years when the 742's were phased out.

Hiya

There is one Odyssey equipped 744 at LHR which will more than likely move down to LGW/MAN in the near future to cover expansion. All the rest of the LHR 744s are V.Port equipped.

Long term, its most likely that a few LHR 744s will move down to LGW/MAN, as more Airbuses get delivered to LHR, more aircraft are free to go to elsewhere. This would be fab for LGW to gain a few V.Port equipped planes and enable more routes to be served, but could herald the demise of VS 744s at LHR [:(!]

IMHO, there is unlikely to be any huge change to the LGW/MAN fleet by September 2007 though.

It was posted recently (by a member of VS staff) that it in addition to G-VXLG relocating to LGW this summer, one of the V:Port 744's may move this year as well.

So who knows, it may be possible that V:Port will start to feature on some LGW flights, albeit on a rather random basis in 2006.
