Just received an email advising that customers using the Upper Class wing at LHR no longer have to pay the drop off fee. I believe taxis add this in automatically so worth keeping an eye on the bill.

Is this actually working? My last time I got dropped off my dad got the charge come through as I didn’t realise we was meant to pay doing the drive thru check in. Hoping it’s waived

The main issue was that the charge only applied once the driver exited the Upper Wing as the only way to exit is to drive through the drop-off charge zone which I guess is why VS have been able to negotiate with HAL to waive the drop-off charge for the Upper Class Wing.

That linked VS webpage does also actually contradict itself:

Driving directions to the Upper Class Wing
Where to find us
When you arrive at London Heathrow, ask your driver to turn left before the usual T3 drop off location, following the 'Virgin Upper Class Wing' sign.
At the top of the ramp, ask your driver to park in one of the bays, We’ll meet you there and see you on your way to the Clubhouse.
Exit as normal through the Terminal 3 forecourt. ANPR cameras will register your vehicle and automatically exempt the fee.

The Heathrow Airport Terminal Drop Off Charge does apply to The Upper Class Wing.

I've been using Parker Cars for a few years now, sometimes they've charged the drop off fee, sometimes not.

I made a booking for travelling in October but needed to alter slightly. I asked them to change some of the detail but they responded putting the price up significantly.

Their explanation was the drop off fee, although it actually was a higher fare. I told them that the Virgin website stated no drop off fee but they responded with an AI generated answer. In essence saying they have to pay the drop off fee.

I am going to forward their response to Virgin as I really would like a definitive answer. It seems petty as it's a small charge in the grand scheme of things but Parker Cars response was quite rude at times. Can anybody suggest a suitable Virgin email address to send this to.

Many thanks
Jilly
