Not sure if this has been discussed before, I did try a quick search but the returns where so vague I though I would post this anyway. Apologies is it has already been covered.

Whilst I was at Downtown Disney check-in recently I overheard the conversation in front of me which was a lady asking about an upgrade from econ to PE. Now I know she wasn't a Gold Member nor travelling with VH as she had to pay to use the check-in.

The agent responded that you are always able to upgrade at Downtown Disney from Econ to PE (Subject to availability) for $199. This seemed like a good deal to me although you may be able to get it cheaper at time of booking if you had MpM or sale fares, but is worth considering for those who didn't spend as much as they thought they where going to in Orlando.

Wonder if you can pay to upgrade from either econ or PE to UC at Downtown Disney. If no-one knows I will ask next time I am there.

As there are only 14 UCS available I doubt it, but then the bar area often has spares, let me know how much the upgrade is if you manage it.
My Nov flight my two seats are the only ones reserved so far

It can be done, I have paid and upgraded before at DD check-in. Though the rates back then were £199 and £599 - it was billed in dollars as they did a exchange rate calculation on the day. Involves a small bit of paperwork of course.

I am sure I have checked in at DD before now when not booked thru VH and not paid. How long have you had to pay for the pleasure, useful as it is though?

I remember it used to be free for everyone pre 9/11 when they had a tiny shed on the other end of the car park. I think it has been chargable for no Au, UC and VH customer for at least 3 years and maybe since it re-openned in it CDS home post 9/11

The little shed is still there, sitting in the middle of no where just across from McD's.
