Hi mdvipond,
How's the little cherub?:)

Anyway, I was in LHR Revivals last week and noticed a sign saying that car transfers could no longer be managed from the CH. In fact, as Preiffer says, arrangements must be made 12 hours prior to flights. If I were you I'd get it all sorted before leaving home.

Regards,
Chuck-

Hi Chuck. Our little 'cherub' has reverted to waking thrice nightly at the mo, so she's an absolute delight, thanks for asking[|)]

Not that I doubted any of my fellow wise and most sage V-Flyers, but having checked with VS, yes - we get a CDC to collect us from MAN to drive us back to little old Leeds. Most impressed.

You should ring Premier so they can book it, otherwise you will have trouble gettting it, as they all need at least 12 hours to confirm with the local car company. Be sure you have the address of where you want to go, and they'll put it into the system for you.

nothing like peace of mind....

(no car in Dublin though)

what is the number for premier?
Keith,

The "premier team" can be reached by either a gold card holder calling their flying club number, and entering their membership no. or an Upper Class passenger calling the standard Upper Class reservations number, which is:

0870 190 9090

Erm, if you look on page 1 of this thread you will find I asked this very question about limos in Ireland and was told that it only applies to mainland UK

Hi,

The number for Premier as such is not published, as you are travelling in Upper Class call Upper Class Reservations 0870 190 9090.

Thanks,
Richard

OK, its got me beat, and I am dying to ask. Why use the term barbadosvia to describe Gatwick. Is it some communist reference/russian joke? Please tell, I am on my seat edge!

Thinking of using miles to pay for a CDC for our trip this Sept, so ran a search and pulled up this thread. Just wanted to check, not being Au, can I still benefit from the services of Premier because we're booked in UC - even though we paid for PE and used miles to upgrade? If this is the case I'll call the number Richard & Paul mention above can be used by anyone flying UC & sort out the CDC :)

Cheers, James

PS: I think I'm right in assuming the cost is 10,000 miles per transfer, so I'll need 20,000 for home to LHR and back from LHR to home?

Anyone travelling Upper Class (however paid for) can ring the Upper Class number as stated above. They will be best suited to arrange your CDC. please be sure to allow AT LEAST 12 hours before your date of travel (the more the better) be be sure they can arrange it for you.

Looking forward to our mileage paid CDC transfers (home-LHR / LHR-home) for our upcoming trip. Question: Anyone had experience of the car not turning up on time or even at all? I know VA's policy is not to send out any proper confirmation, I called Premier Team who confirmed its just a case of of the CDC booking showing against our flight reservation - on their system, not visible on-line to the customer. So, having done more research myself I understand the CDC provider here in UK is Tristar and I guess it'll be a case of needing to call Tristar myself if the car's late? I'm assuming I won't be able to call Premier Team at 6am! Just feel a bit in the dark, have forked out to purchase these CDC's but no confirmation, no instructions what to do in the event of no show...nothing [?]

Cheers,

James

Yup, I've had both over the years (although "not turning up at all" actually turned into "not on time" as it was caught pretty quickly in the US.

For a while, they've been sending you a text message when they've arrived, with the car details - but I now always book the car about 30 minutes before I *really* need it to give me a little margin for error.
