if there are seats to move to, you can change as part of the OLCI, but if you close the window or the page times out, you have what you were allocated, and cannot change until you get to the DIY desk to get your boarding card.

Be careful - it's not exactly clear that you're at the only point in the process where you can change your seat assignment (quite annoying, actually). ;)

Instead - Once you've completed the process, it congratulates you on your ability to check yourself in, and invites you to "review your seat assignment".

THIS confirmation page is the only point that you can change your seat assigment prior to getting to the airport. It's not obvious though [n]

I agree with the fact it is not clear..... and also, IF you change your seat assignment, be sure to print that page, as the email it send to confirm your check-in does NOT include the NEW seats as chosen by you.

worst case scenario, though, is to ask the checkin agent to change it when getting boarding cards printed out.
