Which seats VS005/6

At the moment my flight is showing an A346 aircraft (I hope it doesn't change).

I have never flown this aircraft before and am finding it difficult to get my head around the seat layout and after looking at the seat ratings page I still can't decide.

I am leaning towards seats 2 and 3K, as they don't appear to be overlooked - is there anything better travelling as a couple? - or would you say that's a good choice.

They are pretty good seats - away from the bar and, as you say, with the wall in front so they are not overlooked. 2K also has the benefit of a large shelf just forward of the seat which is useful for putting all your stuff on. If you can get those seats stick with them (2 K is my fav BTW)

If they are booked then anywhere up to 7K IIRC is also not overlooked. Additionally 8A and above are not overlooked either, but closer to the bar. 8K benefits from a small curtain just forward of it which gives you a modicum more privacy. However I wouldn't get too excited by it!

Jilly, none of the seats on the K side are 'overlooked' in the sense that they face the wall. The only downside is that they may be close to the toilet (dependant on with A346 there is either a closet or toilet right next ot 2K)

As you can see from the seat ratings page, the most popular seats are between 3-7K. My favourite is 5K, but its all down to personal choice.

Um, I think 8k upwards are overlooked - on the 346 the middle row turns round to face starboard from 8 aft. So 8A rather than 8k and upwards become the ones looking at the wall.

Ah yes, good point Jeremy. I always refer to the K side as being the side i sit it, mentally i have forgotten that there are seats past 2-7K [:I]

2K for me, and when travelling with someone I always try and bag 3K in the process. I think they are perfect seats. OK 2K has to crook the neck a little, but it really is fine.

The shelf with 2K I think is a gem. Really handy for all your bits.

A gamble on which side the toilet is of course, but to be honest it doesn't disturb you that much at all.

Reading other posts am I right in thinking that up to row 7 is a sleep zone for the return. I do like to get some sleep on the return but a couple of hours usually suffices. In which case would we be best with 8A upwards for the return or would you stick with the same seats?

At the minute I have the choice of the whole cabin in both directions!

Go for the same seats - that way you are away from the bar and you will have less people going past you (they tend to go to the back heads).

I very much liked my 3K "home" on a recent 11 hour flight with VS. The toilet was nearby but not noisy and I did manage (involuntary but not unpleasant) conversation with the lady who was in 4K.

Thanks John, that's one thing that the crew have never failed to offer and I do like.
