Err... How do you think Virgin Galactic works Dean?

Hi all,

Here's a thought - maybe the next cut won't be front-of-house. Maybe, a la Ryanair, they'll start charging the crew for their training and uniforms! ;) (Please tell me they don't do that already!)

Not wanting to be a pedant, but the cow was launched from inside the castle, by the "French" ("fetchez la vache! une cadeau") onto Arthur and his Knights ("Run away!") who were standing outside across the moat.

;)

Cheers,

Coincidentally I just heard on the news (5Live) that scientists are trying to breed cows that fart less, so as to lessen their impact on global warming. I told you all there would be a fart tax next.

Oh by the way I am not joking.

I am sorry guys but this post is out of order. Yes VS have taken things away fromt he product but thats it now nothing else will be taken away. This is very bad if future customers are reading this and have never flown VS it may put them off. I thought you guys loved VS and here you are slating them. The product is still a fantastic one and you guys should take a step back and compare it to other airlines business class products. Its one of the better ones still even though VS have taken little parts of it away.

I think alot of the above posts have been made 'toungue in cheak' so not really too out of order.

A letter has recently been received at VS from someone famous (I'd love to reveal who, but I have no idea if they've been asked if their name can be used in public regarding this so won't)... anyway, this celeb wrote to VS to let us know that his recent experience of flying a competitor over the atlantic was

Big Dowdy Pants
.

and suggested anyday someone working at VS found their job onerous they should try this other airline out to cheer them up.

Hopefully VS can put back some of the fizz thats won us many loyal customers in the past.

Oh come on - its all been fairly humerous and whilst we have discussed the things that have irked us of late I think we still all pretty much agree that "Virgin is Best" virgin is best ( just wanted to put that in the same line!!)

And to rietterate what I and many others have said - we all, here, generally love Virgin, what it stands for and the type of service it offers. We WANT it to succeed and we want to be able to say to our friends and colleagues "fly Virgin - they're great"! But as little things get taken away so it slowly diminishes the brand and the experience and Virgin becomes the same as all the rest!!

Very few of us wil stop flying with VS but you can see that some are drifting away and trying other product as a comparison - and sometimes - Maxjet, BA Club - its been bloody good!!

So if anyone new to Virgin reads this then I say to them - "read all the other posts and trip reports about the flight and service you are going to get - then try it and see how you get on" And I guarantee that 99/100 the customer will enjoy it immensely and return again and again!! Coz most of the time - "its great!!"

But please please please please dont mess around with things when they are good and do what all good companies do before you change something - ASK YOUR CUSTOMERS! ( and that's us!!)

Hi di hi! Sorry I am late everyone. I am afraid I was flying a big dowdy pair Willy's of pants across the atlantic. (for those VS fans who have always wondered, I am able to reveal Willy's pants are blue with union jacks on)

OKay, back to the mutiny... what rum would be better for Upper.. with MRU next year we should be able to get some decent grog!
Top man, I like the cut of your jib [y]. There are two contenders for this position amongst the easily available brands. Purser's would be a good runner, but now that VS don't have this position (Only Willy's pants have them) it really wouldn't be appropriate. So the winner has to be Mount Gay[oo][oo], but if anyone cracks an obvious joke about the name they are for the high jump.

I would like to see the 'bouncer' on the UC check-in go or at least be a bit more friendly.[B)] Every time I have flown UC, they descend on me with that look that says "you don't belong here. Be gone foul oik!!" Just because I may look like Worzel Gummidge doesn't mean I haven't paid :)

Back to the packs......

I think the change is the start of the rot. From check-in to Clubhouse US is sweet but once you leave the CH it gets a little ropey. If you decide to board early the priority lane is usually blocked off by the hoards and any attempt to force the issue is greeting with sarky comments or plain ignorance. [V] Better marshalling is needed (or cattle prods [}:)])

Once on-board it all goes peachy again. Comfy seats, decent-ish grub with good wines, attentive service without over doing it.

Arrivals is sometimes a mixed bag with random exiting policy applied and priority luggage reclaim not living up to it's name.

back to the packs. On the whole they are only a tiny part of the package but when you start picking away at the little bits to save a few pennies here and there it takes the shine off it. Imagine buying an expensive car only to find them filling it with £1.99 a gallon oil.[V]

Just some of my random mutterings anyway [:p]
