7. Crew hugging. This one really annoyed me recently. Can you imagine what it would look like in Sainsburys or HSBC? I mean come on keep your hands off each other, especially as there is high probability you didnt know each other until you meet in each other in the crew room.
I have to arch an eyebrow at this one. What do you mean crew hugging? I would not walk down an aisle and hug a crew member, but I would do it in the galley. I have hugged several crewmembers before. Actually last week I had to hug a girl who sat down and cried in the galley of an Orlando flight. This job is stressful and demanding and there is no 30 minute break area to walk out and take a smoke. (Though its a bad habit and not one I participate in. Quit Smoking you lot!)
Also, we are a relatively small airline compared to some, and on average I know at least one crew member on each flight. We have either flown together, sat on the crew bus together, or have friends that know each other and have met that way. I just went on leisure travel and knew 4 of the crew the minute I walked onto the airplane. Also alot of crew rearrange their lives so they can travel together and be home together. However, even if we did not know each other, this job is just like that. You meet and in 5 minutes you both know each others life story and you depend on each other. Your a team. You need to count on each other in an emergency or to deal with rude passengers. It's just the way the job is.
Not having a go or anything, I just want to say that.
(And at Sainsbury's that really rude customer is not going to be sitting waiting for you to come back with a coffee for the next 8 hours.)
