Hello All,
I had a question that I thought I would throw to the passengers. Now I know all of you are on the 'frequent well behaved passenger' side of the aisle, but maybe you can give me your views on this subject.
THE SUBJECT:
I recently did a rather empty flight to IAD with plenty of extra seats. I was really looking forward to the flight because we were A) Over catered as we had expected to go full. So everyone was going to get their first choice of meals and I was not dreading the meal service.
B) I was looking forward to getting to interact a bit more with passengers.
During the flight, passengers ran to get their own rows of seats and quickly laid themselves across all four or two and enjoyed the vast amount of space. Now once they had done this, there were no spare seats left as everyone was laying across them. Shortly after this happened a passengers IFE became inop and as they had someone sitting next to them, I had to move the passenger. (DVD player not an option). I eventually had to ask a passenger stretched across a row of seats because it was my only option. Now the passenger who I asked to move was not happy to have to give up the seat and was really moody with me the rest of the flight. (Though he still had two seats between himself and the other passenger).
Why was it such an issue? The guy did not pay for a row of seats so he should not expect one. I understood that it was inconvinient, but no need to be rude to the crew the rest of the flight. What's your feelings?
